Baby Shower

One of my favorite things in the whole world is throwing parties. More specifically themed party! Getting people together to catch up and have fun is always a blast. I have been itching to throw a girlie party and was thrilled that my older brother and his wife are expecting a little girl! Perfect timing, that’s all I have to say! My only struggle was that I was throwing a coed shower. Were my girlie ideas going to be too extreme? Will the guys being pulling their hair out when their wives and girlfriends drag them to the shower announced on this pink invitation? I decided "I don’t care!" and went for it! I mean, they are having a girl right? The theme for the shower was "Birds" and the color scheme: pink and olive green! So enjoy! I hope you get inspired for the next baby shower you throw!

I got my invitations from Sweet Pea Baby Designs, on Etsy. If you haven’t been to their website, you must! I love their stuff! Everything is designed beautifully and uniquely.

I work for a wedding planner so, naturally, I pay attention to detail. Working so many weddings, I have seen numerous types of center pieces, cute details, and creative ideas. I thought I would pour them all into one shower. I have never worked with flowers before, but I thought I would give it a try and I was pretty impressed, let me tell you! Actually, I lied. I was flying high, with the biggest grin saying, “Look what I can do!”

I thought these moss balls with little birds on them were so cute!

One of the packages we have with Exquisite is a candy station for party favors. Once again, I used my wedding skills and made a vintage candy station. Old suitcases, color schemed candy, old books, and moss mounds with little birds pulled it all together, along with some tasty candy!

All in all it was a great day! We played a "couples relay race" with babies. The game was entertaining and got even better when the dog decided to join in and steal the baby doll out of one couple's hands! There were cocktails, food, and good company. Everything was great! Nate, Karla, and my soon to be little niece, Makaya, I hoped you enjoyed it!
